A question for parents…

Question:

[ Article crossposted from can.schoolnet.chat.teachers ] [ Author was Dave Crowley ] [ Article crossposted from alt.parenting.solutions ] [ Author was Dave Crowley ] [ Article crossposted from alt.parents-teens ] [ Author was Dave Crowley ] Hi! I’m a fourth year journalism student at Carleton University in Ottawa and I’m doing my honours research project on kids, parents, and the Internet. Specifically, I’m looking at how parents are dealing with the issue of pornography, excessive violence, bad language, etc. on the internet and how much access they allow their kids to it. I’d be grateful if parents (or kids) would e-mail some answers to these questions to me: How concerned are parents (or teachers) about the internet and kids’ use of it? Are your kids looking at sites you believe are unsuitable? What are parents doing about it? Are there parents/school groups on the issue? Are parents informed on the issue? Is there really an issue at all, or has the situation been overblown? Are kids at a great risk? Do you think software/computer companies seem to care about the issue? Please be sure to put your full name at the end of the response, and the city you’re writing from.  Also, put the number of kids you have and how many are using the internet or the grade you teach if you’re a teacher. Thank you for your effort.                             Journalism IV                             Carleton University                             Journalism IV                             Carleton University                             Journalism IV                             Carleton University                             Journalism IV                             Carleton University
