Question:
Sure, no problem. We’ll just have to worry about providing food and shelter and clothing and toys and everything else so one of us can stay home. Why didn’t we think of this solution? It was so obvious and easy, I’m amazed. Many studies disagree with your information. Cindy – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Two year olds are too young to be in daycare. : Don’t judge his family. Not everyone can stay home. Why not? He didn’t have to marry into the family. He chose to do so. Then he folds up with the first real problem he runs into. I recently got married to a wonderful woman and her child from a previous marriage. I prepared for this rather dramatic change in my life (I’ve never been married or a parent) by reading several books on parenting and husbanding
and the more I read the more I realized that no one really seems to be sure on what to do. Here is my new father dilemma: My 2 year old girl is hitting the children in her day care. She rarely hits me or my wife, but seems to really belt the other children in day care. With the exception of one other child, my baby is the youngest of the other children! She seems to have terrorized the other children into letting her smack them. We get daily reports from the day care provider about what she is doing, and we speak to the baby every day. She says she understands (as much as two year olds can I guess), but then she is still a naughtly little girl. Most of the literature says to discipline the child immediately after they do something bad, but that is impossible because we are not at the day care. Like I said, the baby doesn’t hit mommy or I. What can we do? I know she is acting like a typical two year old (I’ve been lurking), but I am worried that she is going to get kicked out of day care. Can anyone with real world experience offer a tidbit for this brand new daddy? Thanks in advance, Thomas Toth

What does the day care do when this happens. I would suggest to them putting her in a timeout each time, for a few minutes. This is what my son’t daycare does and he his a very aggressive child. They seem to have no problems in controling him & if he can be controlled with timeouts any child can. It takes a while for the idea to sink in, but it will. Taylor
