I am certainly not against prayer, and strongly believe in it. However, to suggest your religion, with specific prayer to your saint, for those who follow other religions, is a form of prostelyzation which I find unacceptable. Everyone should pray, but in a manner acceptable to each individual, following the religious concepts of the religion of ones choice.

I myself am not Catholic or belong to any organized religion, but I wasn’t offended by the prayer. I don’t believe in saints but there are lots of people who do. Looked to me like that person was just trying to offer solace with no motives other then to possibly help "someone" who could accept or want the help. Just because it does not work for you, doesn’t mean that someone else …. might be helped by that post. Everyone is so used to flaming over here that you even flame someone who is trying to do a nice thing! Maybe that person thought that the general tone of flaming that goes on over here (admitting my fault in that) needed some divine intervention!
