Thanks Carla, I’ll try again.  I know I couldn’t function without my massages (for fibromyalgia).  She does like to put lotion on her own legs.  I’ll try again.  My daughter did do some massage with her first.  An auto accident caused the baby to come 2 months early and 2 wks in All Childrens wired up every which way.  As soon as they could hold her, they started massaging & again last Dec when she had to have another operation.  With massage and prayer groups, she amazed the surgeon and entire operating room staff (the difference between the x-rays & what they found once they got inside).  Her pediatrician just looks at her with mouth open.  She bounced back in half the time. That’s a little plug for you and prayer. Judy

Massage for babies, toddlers, and teenagers has shown benefits for improved sleeping patterns, relief from colic, improved bonding and self esteem, less violent and aggressive behavior,  and improvement with ADHD, eating disorders, diabetes in children, asthma in children, depression in children and adults…and more and more. It is very much worth looking into.  There is information (research and otherwise) at www.infantmassage.com Carla

I tried that with my grandbaby & she was so ticklish, it drove her nuts.  Won’t let anybody do it.  She’s 5 & still won’t even let me rub her feet.  She’ll rub mine though and says she has magic hands & can make my headache or backache go away.  She says God gave her magic hands.  She actually helps.  Go figure! :) just brought to mind … The last few days, I think the long weekend and all, my kids got REALLY antsy, and we’ve had several discipline problems.   Lastnight before bed, all three had a bath, and since winter here brings VERY dry air, I rubbed lotion into all of them, and took my time with each one.  All three of my kids seemed almost euphoric on the way up to bed … I think the massage made them drowsy, and happy.  AND normally (especially Emily, 6 yrs) wakes up GROUCHY … she didn’t today!  What a nice morning! Just thought I’d share! Krystal If evolution really works, then why do mothers have only two arms?       Eat the "treat" in my address to e-mail me.

I give my boys backrubs and headrubs. It quiets them down while they are getting the attention.  I don’t know if it helps them the rest of the time, they an be pretty wild.  I’m glad somebody thinks I’m doing the right thing. With a ticklish response try a little deeper/firmer stroke or move to a different part that is a less ticklish area.  There can be a lot of trial and error.  Ofcourse a good laugh and giggle together is stress relieving and relaxing too. There is a pictorial massage demonstration available that shows a basic massage routine that is easy to learn and adaptable as the child grows at http://www.infantmassage.com/information.htm Carla
