As someone adept at the cane for SM games, I cannot imagine using such on a child.  It’s a nasty wicked sting.  Used improperly it wraps, all he force at the tip that wraps and can actually open the skin where it lands.  Have you had this used on your backside?  I’d suggest that you experience that before you use it.  If you insist on using it, learn how.  Never strike the same place twice.  Stand so that the cane lands across both cheeks and the tip doesn’t wrap into the hip. Do NOT hit the tailbone.  And really, experience it before you use it, and I think you’ll decide it is too intense as a tool for disciplining a child.

I would like to direct a few questions your way… firstly, can I ask what made you decide that a cane was the best way to discipline your daughter? Also, how did you introduce her to it? Did you warn/threaten her with it beforehand, or just produce it and tell her it was time she was taught a lesson? When you gave it to her, _did_ you remove any of her clothing? Did you bend her over your knee? How hard did you use it? Dont get me wrong, I’m not criticising you, nor am I trying to get off on you punishing an eight year old. I’m just curious as to why you would consider what I would think to be ‘harsh’ discipline for your young daughter. Would you consider being caned yourself? I would probably have more questions etc for you, but I guess it would be better to hear back from you first… garyq 8*)

Thanks to the people who replied.  Well, I am now the owner of a two-foot junior school cane and on Monday afternoon Nicola got her first taste of it. Wow!
