No, not really. I post on APS and APT and that’s it for parenting groups, the other are professional. Steve

Yes, it’s a favorite gambit by brainless admin employees to waste their employer’s time screwing with Usenet and using their position to spoof other identities. No, I see the full header, I use trn in UNIX. I just wondered where you got the NNTP ID. Steve

The thing that I did not have time to research [yet] is to see if It has followed you here from another one [or more] of your ng’s.  Google does not search by NNTP and the sock puppets’ existence start with their appearance on aps, so a more rigorous search would be required.  You post to a number of groups.  Perhaps you have a clue on the answer to this question? -Aula

I wish you’d enclose all the header data you used to get that for the sake of the rest who don’t know this stuff. Steve

I used NeoTrace Pro to trace the NNTP listed in my first post.  You can down load a trial version for free.  Search Google for NeoTrace Pro.  If our pest had been garbling or forging headers it would have been more difficult and I would have had to resort to much more work but NeoTrace might still have been helpful. I am, of course, assuming that you know how to find the full headers.  I am not familiar with your newsreader and am, therefore, unable to direct you to them.  In OE, which I use, you simply right highlight a post from the party you want to read the headers on, select "Properties", then Details.  This gives you the full headers.  But, if you wish to report the individual to their ISP for some reason, you need to go one step further and select "Message Source", highlight everything that comes up in the box to copy to your email to their ISP so that they are able to verify that indeed the individual being reported is actually their subscriber.  There are some people out there who can forge headers incredibly well. HTH’s -Aula
