Question:
My daughter just turned 16 months. She has enough hair for one of those pig-tails that stick straight up or a plastic barrette. At want age do they allow these things to stay in their hair without pulling them out?

My 15 m/o would at first leave it in only if she was distracted while it was being out it – she didn’t know it was there. Weeks later, she’s just less curious, and she lets us out it in most of the time. She’s always been pretty hairy. Maybe it’s less comfortable for some kids. Levity is the dearth of gravity. Oops, I realized as I pressed the send key that I forgot to say – Sarah is 20 months old. Laura http://wdg.mc.duke.edu/~brook006

Until recently, my daughter pulled them out in 2 seconds. But about a month ago, she not only stopped pulling them out, she started bringing them to us and insisting that we put it IN! She calls it her "pitty" (pretty) – have we created a monster or what? ;-) Laura

My daughter would let us put the barrette in her hair but we would allways find them around the house with small amount of hair in them. ouch! She got better the closer she got to two. Lisa Alex 9, Marissa 7, and baby Lane 22 months …. but allready in the terrible twos

I think your question is sooooooo cute…..it’s obviously from someone who has only 1 child. Every girl is sooooo different. One might love her hair done….another hates you to touch it. You just have to wait and see how she does. If she keeps it in…..and doesn’t pull it out…..then she’s old enough to "allow these things to stay in (her) hair without pulling them out?;););) Have fun with her!!! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> My daughter just turned 16 months.
