Might I suggest AOL users use your personal file cabinet to read the newsgroup.  Your way seems to time consuming.  With the file cabinet all the stuff in the newsgroup is threaded and in its own file folder.  After doing a flash session to retrieve all unread newsgroup articles (while on or off line), then you just delete the folders with topics you are not interested in.

Noonetwo – that might work for those of us on the unlimited use plan, but read back and you’ll see that Ron Low pays hourly, and pays about 1/4 what I do.  In order to work that, he doens’t want to spend precious time downloading tons of stuff he doesn’t want to read.  If he’s anything like me, only 2 to 5 threads out of a day’s postings are interesting, and it is faster to just mark the whole thing read, pick out the goodies, and download these. ——- "It is difficult to distinguish where the feminine ends and nature begins."  - Antonio Carlos Jobim

This is a pretty good newsgroup.  We have a couple of people who have caused an uproar lately; but hopefully that will pass SOON!!!  If ya can look past them you’ll find that we do a lot of good here.  I’ve been helped out quite a few times.  :)  Enjoy!!! Lisa Mom to Kelsey (2.5)

Is 4 years long enough?  I’ve seen never-ending mis-placed debates on spanking (they belong in alt.parenting.spanking) that make this round of religion and circumcision stuff look like a parenting handbook.   This is good group, but it’s a little tricky with aol (which lacks a kill-file feature) to glean the good stuff.   I log on for an online session, hit "mark all read" and then "mark unread" topics that interest me.  Then I initiate a flashsession and log off.  I read and reply offline.   I get by fine with less than 3 hours per month for $4.95.   – Ron Low Levity is the dearth of gravity.  Brevity is the height of clarity.   non-commercial e-mail always welcome Allow 2 days for replies

I’m new to newsgrouping and have been looking for a real good newsgroup on parenting and I have not been able to find one so far. Is there anyone who has been in this group long enough to tell me if this is a good group? I have looked into quite a few, and all I have seen so far is alot of in-group fighting, or religious arguments, which is not what I’m looking for. I am mainly interested in talking about children and the joys and pains of raising them. Is that was this group is about, or is it only for "solving" problems?I ask this because of the title of the group.
