Need opinion on persoanlized children's books

Question:

Our multiples group has a "crafts" evening each October in which people who have businesses like yours bring stuff to sell to other members (and take orders …). Our local community college has preschool classes all over the area, attended by parents *with* their kids (nominally they are Parent Education courses, but no-one I know enrolled for their own education!!).  Somewhere like that might let you do a brief presentation to each class? As your business grows, how about registering for a booth at your local town’s street festival (if you have one), or for a special mall function? –Janet Elliot, Hanna, Connor  (10/21/96)

I’m not sure where you live, but around here (Chicago) there are local parenting magazines and the cost of advertising is minimal.  You can also put an ad in your local newspaper under "Services".  Also, a bright (neon colored) flyer could be posted at your local grocery stores.  You might also want to contact some daycare’s in your neighborhood and see if they will let you hang a flyer there. My husband and I opened a company ourselves and I have done a lot of research on inexpensive ways of marketing.  I did manage to get our local newspaper to do an article on our company since it is unique to the Chicago area. I hope some of this helps and best of luck in your new business. Many Churches and Synagogues have holiday bazaars, where vendors come and sell their goods. The Churches pay for the advertising, and the vendor pays for space at the bazaar, either through an up front table fee, or a percentage of sales, or both. I think that’s a great place to sell things.
