Well, Paige, you and I obviously have divergent points of view when it comes to what can be labeled as being victimized. That’s fine, I don’t expect everyone to agree with me. If so, there wouldn’t be much point in Usenet at all, right? Ina — Don’t say never to me.

Well, you have every right to your opinion. > Oh gee…thank you _so_ much for your insightful analysis. And you based > this on _one_ post? >That’s all it takes.
Oh really? Why don’t you killfile me then, it’s not like I have anything of real value to share anyway? I won’t cry, I promise. (Or just maybe, possibly there’s a chance the majority of my posts in this group are cat-related? I quick search on Deja will tell, won’t it? If you want my old address to use in the search as well, just let me know. I have nothing to hide -that’s why I don’t x-no-archive my posts and post under my full name no matter what I post.) > Ever heard of lurking before posting? I guess not. >If YOU have been paying attention, you would know that Ginney posted a few >days ago and said she HAS been lurking here for a while. Long enough to >recognize off topic bullshit when she sees it.
Well, I checked her posting history before I replied to her, and found seven posts. Most of them from the last couple of days (yes, I read them, so I’m sorry, but your information is not news to me.), and even in other threads she goes on and on about the "nasty" people in here. Yes, she said she lurked, but so what? She obviously didn’t lurk long enough to understand what sometimes happens in unmoderated newsgroups. But really, this is not about Virginia, this goes for everyone. What’s the point in whining repeatedly about flame wars and other poster’s behaviour if you want it to stop? It’s not very likely anyone will change, and there’s hardly no reason to try to parent other people on a newsgroup. Whining usually piss people off, and generates even more flaming/ off topic posts/ bitching/ whatever. If you’re part of the problem, you’re not part of the solution, so to speak. We all have a choice when it comes to what to post, and if you don’t like a certain thread, there’s really no reason adding to it. Hypocrisy is not very becoming for _anyone_. Unmoderated newsgroups will always have a variety of posters and posts. It’s impossible to like everything and every POV, and that’s just the way it is. It’s just a newsgroup, for crying out loud, and it should be taken as such. Yes, there’s always valuable information in here, and most of the discussions are interesting, off topic and educational, but no one can control anyone’s behaviour but their own. It’s your perogative not to like me (or whoever else, for that matter), but there’s really not much you can do about it except killfile threads and/ or authors. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. (You in this segment = anyone who feels this apply to them) > Now try to use a killfile to filter out those of us you have a problem > with, or shut up. Nobody cares anyway. >YOU try taking your off-topic bullshit to personal e-mail where it belongs.
Oh, that was a good one, C. Especially since _you_ continued this off topic (which is even marked OT in the subject header) bullshit by Why don’t you practice what you preach? If you did so, you would’ve emailed that post to me instead of posting it, right? Or are there other rules for you? If so, please let me know, as I really wasn’t aware of that. Pot. Kettle. Black, C. You can’t have it both ways.

Ina — Don’t say never to me.

Ina — Don’t say never to me.
