Question:
If I were you I would take one day at a time and just try to be the best mom you can be.don’t let the little things get to you. If someone tries to offer to help let them an take a break from your baby. like go take a nice warm bath or something. believe me it has saved me from seeing the doc about things like that butthen i was already diagnosed with it. * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!

I am not pregnant yet.. but I have a plan for *most* eventual situations.. see that is one of the few benefits of my disorders lol.. I lie awake at night and THINK about all the "what-ifs".. also I am looking into adoption.. we shall see.. I am not sure what I am going to do yet.. I am still in the "planning" stages of our family
thanks for the input though
Claire

I have read so many books already.. and I wish we lived in a more gay-friendly environment..because Jen cannot attend the "father" classes lol. Thank you so much for your support! I was not too worried about passing it on because I have the advantage to KNOW what to look for and not freak out and deny, or worse, overlook it. I am sitting here listening to Rusted Root and as soon as the person that is coming over to pick up my stereo (I don’t use this one anymore) I will be working out.. I have lost I 3 pounds in preparation for this angel.. and that is exactly how he/she will be treated! Jen and I BOTH want this so bad! Thanks again! Claire Bear

You’ll need to keep a close eye on yourself during that time, as your hormones will be raging on top of being pregnant and bipolar. ALSO very important… see an OB/GYN early on, and let them know what is going on with you mentally. Working closely with both doctors will help. While you’re pregnant, it wouldn’t hurt to take some parenting courses. This WILL help both you, Jen (is that her name?), and the baby. Best of luck to you all. Well Claire, you’ll definitely have to check with your docs about the safety of your medications BEFORE you start the, er, conceiving process. This is because the first trimester is always the very riskiest time for birth defects, and also because many of our meds stay in the bloodstream for a long time after you stop taking them. As for possible worries about "passing on" the disorder… it could happen; however since you are very aware of your own condition, you’ll be in a better position than anyone else to see symptoms if they do occur, and know what to do about them. Cheers, TAE
