writes I > Age of Child: _4__ Years __4__ Months > 1. What number can your child count up to? > 90+, though he gets confused after 48 and needs prompting. Without
prompting, he can go reliably to forty-eight. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> 2. All of them. Also Diplodocus, Deinosuchus, and Megatherium. And about a hundred other dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, and aobut antoehr hundred animals and birds, including many different kinds of eagles and vultures. He can also identify them all precisely from skeletons, pictures, in museums, etc. I’m not kidding about the number. > 4. If you were to lay out a number of bricks on the floor in a > line, would your child be able to count how many there are? > 1 Brick > 2 Bricks > 3 Bricks > 4 Bricks > 5 Bricks > 6 Bricks > 8 Bricks > 10 Bricks > Easily. And he can also count his model dinosaurs, which is why he
can reach 48 reliably; for a long time there were 48 of them
. He would probably be too bored to try the task you suggest. > 5. Would your child be able to carry out instructions such as the > following? > Go to the kitchen > Pick up the bricks > Come over here, and bring me your drawing > Go upstairs, pick up your shoes and find teddy
No problem. The question is, would he feel like doing so? > Thank you very much for your time.
I don’t know if you care, but he can also read, and write his name. — Jane Lumley

Kelsey is 2 years and 9 mos. She can count to 10. Blue, Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Black, Green, Brown, White, Pink are colors she can recognize. Lilac is just purple to her. Grey is one we haven’t worked on. Turqouise would just be blue or green to her. Cat, Car, Dog, Bike, Sheep, House, Rabbit, Window, Bedroom, Elephant, Tiger, Lion, Zebra, Snake, Penguin, Motorbike, Bus,Table, Chair, Telephone, Computer, Television are all things she can name and recognize. Dolphin would just be a fish to her. Lorry….I have no idea what this is so I know she doesn’t either. Yes, she can count the bricks. Yes she could follow those directions. Lisa Mom to Kelsey (2)
