Oh I agree
But I don’t put them on her backwards I was just pointing out an observation that I had made when she and her diaper had been totally immersed in water that they appear to hold the same all the way around

I don’t reverse them, and I don’t know what kind of diapers are used by the friend who does and finds them more likely to leak. But this could be a good point, Paige –although my friend has a boy and Kathleen has a boy … so maybe Victoria’s situation is just … different ….

Aside from duct taping his pajamas on when you put him to bed, not a clue. Even worse than that, out oldest did the same thing, but she took the next step. We found her standing at the edge of the crib, totally nekid, with the …. (how shall I word this?) …. evidence all over her face and a huge smile, underneith. I think that the smile was because she knew that we were getting up to wash her off and put some *different* flavor in her mouth. This only happened once and only with her (I think that she warned the others not to do this). — Do not underestimate your abilities. That is your boss’s job. Janet: Thanks, those are excellent ideas, but there are two problems. First is that Andrew is a cold-weather boy. He doesn’t like to be hot. There is *no* way he’d sleep in a onesie *and* pajamas. The second problem is that he is *very* proficient at crotch snaps, neck snaps… you name it. I think he’s going to be an engineer when he grows up, because he’s so good at taking things apart.
I suppose we’ll have to give a shot to the backward diaper. Sigh… Kathleen and wisdom, writ: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->What Amy suggested to me a couple of weeks ago is STILL WORKING!!! What Amy suggested to me a couple of weeks ago is STILL WORKING!!! Thank you CJ for blazing this trail!!!! Namely: A onesie under the type of footed pjs that come in two parts and have snaps around the waist. I use the Sears onesie that snaps all the way down the front and then has a piece that comes up between the legs and has three snaps along the front waist ($6.99 for 2, as of Saturday
. Probably a pull-over onesie with crotch snaps would work just as well — but my culprit is good at wriggling out of things by stretching the neck, so I decided snaps with a firmer, narrower neckhole would be safer. The pjs are also Sears … and you should see how he prances around in them, all proud of himself! Good luck!! Hi
Does Andrew have a certain time in the morning he tends to awaken by? If he does, you might try going in there a few minutes before, or a few minutes after (catch him in the act) and praise him if he has NOT done it at all…or give him a firm "no" with a short explanation of what and why. My daughter went thru this when she was about 14 months old and it lasted about a month. She really put us through the wringer tho..it was always at nap time (which always varied in length) and on a daily basis I had to pop her into the tub and scrub poop from the bottom of the crib (how’d she do that???) and the window sills (not to mention every other part of the crib …fingerpainting was extensive). We were definately tired of it! Good Luck

If that doesn’t work, you might want to try the duct tape method. When you finish with his last diaper for the night, put a piece of duct tape all around his diaper (try to be careful to keep it off his skin). He won’t get through that. Keep a pair of round-tip scissors handy to cut him out of it the next day!
In a week or two, he will have forgotten all about his cute little game and you can stop using the duct tape. Take Care! Vicki Surratt Proud Mom of Kathy (6) and Jenny (9)!

Also just thought of: wrapping some inch wide masking tape around the diaper top (tummy), not tight, but not open-able, if the backwards thing doesn’t work. Good luck, Norma

Darn. It’s working great in this house (the pjs I use are very thin to compensate for the double layer …). I have also known people do the duct tape and it worked pretty well for them — but is a pain for you to get off in the morning … The reversed diaper is OK unless Andrew is a mega-pee-er — I’m told they aren’t *quite* as absorbent the wrong way round. BTW, don’t let Glen scare you too much. My little explorer doesn’t play with it at all. I think he takes the diaper off before sleep and then "goes" all over himself while unconscious. When he wakes up, he has of course rolled in it and the discovery renders him totally hysterical. Far from getting any pleasure out of it, he screams uncontrollably until I get him in the bath tub. I am confident that once he learns the connection, he will stop. But of course, by then, one of the others will probably start up instead. :-)) –Janet Triplets (10/21/96) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Janet: >Thanks, those are excellent ideas, but there are two problems.
