Question:
A lot of ranting about television deleted I am sick and tired of the bashing that TV gets. It is bad if used as a babysitter. this is common sense but there is nothing wrong with a child having a favorite (Non-educationaly oriented) show. When I was 11 I loved Star Trek a love I still have in my adult life. From that show I learned to have an imagination. Discovered an alternative to bigotry and generally enjoyed myself very much. TV is like Cola’s, pampering, candy, cake and toys a little is a great experience for the child to much can limit the childs mental development. Because of people ranting and raving about the evil’s of tv I know parents who think that an hour a night is a form of child abuse. Wake up and use a little common sense people. Just so you know where I’m coming from 27 yr old white male, maried with 1 child both my wife and I attend college full time work full time and raise our son without resorting to day-care. I am an education major working towards a teaching degree. Askarius
Response:
I found that our children will see 8,000 murders and 100,000 violent scenes on TV before they finish elementary school… What can we do about that? All the professionals say redirect your children’s attention… but how?? There is a new satellite TV channel featured in the Wall Street Journal called The Peoples Network. TPN is dedicated toward educational and motivational programming also called SUCCESS TV. In order to do that TPN broadcasts only positive programming including world renown motivational speakers. TPN has no commercial advertising, and is the only television network in the world which offers cash incentives to its viewers. This is what some of the featured speakers have to say about TPN: "The real benefit of TPN is that it’s going to get in your head, your heart, in your soul, and in your life. It’s going to change your life and change your lifestyle."
