Response:

The grandfather is a kidnapper, pure and simple.  If he had legitimate claims he could seek redress in a court of due process.  Instead he kidnaps. Not only should the child be returned, but the kidnapper should not be in any position to care for a child, being in prison with a large hairy cellmate named Moose for the rest of his days. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Grandfather Seizes Boy From Gay Son, Cops Say > Letter Claims 10-Year-Old Is Not Exposed to ‘Heterosexual Women’ > Oct. 10, 2000 > By Randy Dotinga > CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. That man should be charged with kidnapping and get put away for ten years! That would settle whose child it is right quick! Remember the wisdom of Solomon, this asshole wishes to divide a child, so he doesn’t deserve one! Steve

Response:

Attorney should know not to take matters into his own hands.  If the attorney believed Washington and Forrester violated the placement agreement, he should have brought it up to the attention of the court; not circumvented the court. And the grandfather’s attorney who seems to have prior knowledge of the pending abduction, but didn’t report it to the court in a timely manor. > Bill Hence Jr., an attorney for the elder Washington, claimed in the > letter that Washington and Forrester had violated the terms of an > agreement that allowed them to take care of the child.

I’m not sure the grandpa actually took the kid on a fishing trip.  That might have just been an excuse to get the kid away from the (grandpa’s) gay son (who is uncle of kid). In any case, it looks as though it’s shaping up to be one of those gay vs. straight battles.  Unless, of course, CPS steps its fat foot in. Then the kid will be fosterized, and everybody will live unhappily ever after. —           *  Nehmo Sergheyev  * http://www.angelcities.com/members/nehmo/Susan_Talks.html Before you buy.

Let me get this "straight". Grandpa wanted to expose his grandson to heterosexual women.  So he takes the boy out to the middle of a lake, alone with another guy. WHERE ARE THE WOMEN?!  Sounds pretty gay to me!

Response:

I think her point was that the grandfather was making a big song and dance about having the kid observe heterosexual women interact with men and then he takes the boy out fishing in the middle of a lake with another man, which sorta shoots his argument full of holes.

Grandfather Seizes Boy From Gay Son, Cops Say Letter Claims 10-Year-Old Is Not Exposed to ‘Heterosexual Women’ Oct. 10, 2000 By Randy Dotinga CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (APBnews.com) — A man allegedly abducted his 10-year-old grandchild from his gay son because he felt the boy was not being exposed to heterosexual women, authorities said. The grandfather, Paul Washington Sr., took the boy on a fishing trip Friday and did not return, leaving behind a Federal Express package with a letter from his attorney to explain his actions, said Tex Ritter, an assistant district attorney with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. The boy was taken from the Cathedral City home of Paul Washington Jr. and his partner, Timothy Forrester, Ritter said. Cathedral City is a town of 34,000 near Palm Springs in Southern California. The younger Washington has taken care of the child since his birth. The boy was born to the younger Washington’s sister, who is mentally incapacitated and a ward of the state, Ritter said. Broken agreement? Bill Hence Jr., an attorney for the elder Washington, claimed in the letter that Washington and Forrester had violated the terms of an agreement that allowed them to take care of the child. Ritter said the letter claims that Washington had agreed to provide a full-time female baby sitter and always "expose" him to heterosexual females. "There would be no attempts to influence the natural sexual preference of the minor," the letter said, but "you do not appear to be exposing him to any healthy relationships with heterosexual females." Also, the letter complained that the boy did not participate in sports but instead is enrolled in "gay art class and ballet." Emergency custody hearing Paul Washington Sr. remains at large. Authorities have not issued an arrest warrant pending a court hearing. His attorney did not return a phone call seeking comment. The younger Washington and Forrester could not immediately be reached for comment. The district attorney’s office plans to call for an emergency court hearing to discuss the custody of the child, Ritter said. The case is complicated by the fact that the boy’s caretakers never officially adopted him, he said. "The issue comes down to where the child is better placed. Most likely the courts are going to review what’s in the best interests of the child," Ritter said. "Currently, the child is in school. The courts are reluctant to remove children from where they have been unless there are strong allegations or evidence of abuse. In this case, there’s only allegations of an inappropriate environment." A judge may not look kindly upon the grandfather’s decision to take the child, Ritter said. "Even if he thinks there was actual abuse going on in the household, this is not the appropriate remedy," he said. http://www.apbnews.com/newscenter/breakingnews/2000/10/10/gayabduct10…
