Question:
Does anyone know how to save a parenting article from the web? I can save the first page using my browser, but the article is a couple pages long. Also, I lose the pictures when I save. Thanks.

How are you trying to save it? If you are using IE, you shoudl just be able to click on file, then save, then name it, and it will download everything into a folder, including pictures, et cetera. AJPDLA

Save the subsequent pages the same way you saved the first page. Getting the pictures depends on how they are incorporated into the page. You may be able to download them from addresses found on the "page source" screen, or you may have to write to the webmaster of the site and ask for them. Next time you ask a question like this, include the url. Some kind soul might just be willing to download the whole mess and mail it to you.

Generally when you "save" a web page it saves only text and only the text on the URL at which your browser is parked. If the article extends to more pages, you will have to go to each page separately. To save an image, you can also right-click on the image — hold the button down and a screen should pop up offering you an opportunity to save the image to file. You aren’t going to be able to (easily) save most web pages in such a manner that you can later bring it all up in a word processor and read the article as you did on the website. You can, however, save the text files as "html" and also save the image files and you MIGHT be able to pull it all up offline in your browser to resemble what you see on the webpage (but without the ability to edit some code, etc., anything other than a simple and basic page probably won’t come out the way you expect). There are programs out there that let you "whack" a website and will transfer it to your computer in whole. You can then bring up everything at that site while offline and it will, for the most part, appear exactly as you saw it online. Webwhacker is the first that comes to mind. Interarchy does it for Macs. But this is most likely overkill for general purposes.

You can press save, and save to any destination on your computer. Do it again for second page. You can then open it in Explorer when wanted. Or press "select all", then copy and past to Word doc or Frontpage (HTML). Do again for second page. I do it all the time with Frontpage which is an HTML programme, no problem. Not sure if Word is much use with pics. john

If you are using Netscape…go under "File", then go to Edit Page….this will open Netscape Composer..then save this…you can also get delete all the info from the page that you do not want. ie…any advertising..
