Why The Death Penalty Works

Question:

Your post begs the question. You or I or even a ‘pervert’ may find these images abhorrent and terrifying — so what? Many child molesters are quite aware that what they do is wrong, and many of them think they’ll go to hell for their crimes? In other words, if the FEAR OF GOD isn’t enough to stop them before the fact than what use are these types of pictures? My point is that your post supposedly tells us ‘why’ punishment works, when all you’ve really done is just shown some horrible pictures. Big deal — won’t stop anybody. — Chris Chandler

Yeah, what’s the point of disagreeing with someone you’ve just called a borderline delusional? — Go Lakers! Chris Chandler (the Lisa Simpson of a.s.b.n.l-l)

try very hard from now on to `conform` to your prescribed standards of NG policy. Josie….. who never was very good at conforming, or obeying the damn rules of anything.

I can’t recall disagreeing with you much at all. I’ve also agreed with Dorothy on many different things. As far as Glen goes, I do not take an opposing stand simply because I `see his name`. If he’d ever say anything I agreed with, I’d be the first one to post the silly little `me too` that us newbies are so despised for. Aside from that, I’ll post any darn thing that I want to, missy, ok? Who died and made you the NG boss anyway? Josie

Hmm, I see you’ve set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public.  Go ahead post anything, it just shows how a person who has the combination of a lack of education and the ability to afford a PC is capable of embarassing themselves in a public forum. I am not an NG boss. You can post anything, *but*, usually most posters in here are posting topics and questions dealing with parenting, not photos of executions.  Yes, some topics do go off-topic, but usually most posters are normal and try to stay on topic.  Trying to teach your children about strangers and molesters is on topic, a topic about hanging the molesters would be off topic.  Do you see the difference?  Most certainly, photos of botched executions, has nothing to do with parenting.  If you want to discuss capital punishment take it to the correct forum.  There are NGs that are suited to this topic. PS. "Who died and made you ___ boss"?-When did you get out of high school?  That is the last time I was asked a question like this.  Sheesh

For clarification.  Glen is saying that punishment after the fact is like closing the barn door after the horses are out.  That is what he is saying.   To atone for their deeds, yes I agree that we have to lock molestors up,( I do believe that Glen is also saying this).   But, to say that punishment, cures or deters molestors, I do not believe that it does.  But again, we do have to lock them up for the good of society, until we know how we can treat them so they won’t molest again. > I felt that it was my obligation to challenge that statement for the sake of > the children.

This post had nothing to do with children.  It just showed the results of botched executions.  I think it was just showing your hate and need for therapy. In other words, this post was to push your agenda and paranoia on the NG.  Get some help for yourself.  Get over your problems for the sake of your children. They will thank you in the future.

This article does not pertain nor mention about child molestation.  Please read before you post.  It is about capital punishment and pictures of people that have been executed. It has nothing about parenting.  How does this pertain to solutions about parenting?  For the sake of the other readers in the NG keep the discussion on the other thread.  Do not create another thread dealing with the same thing that really has nothing to do with solutions for parenting. Get a grip, Josie, you don’t have to disagree with the same people all the time. Just because you see my name, Dorothy’s or Glen’s it doesn’t mean that you have to take the opposing view.  In my humble opinion  I think that you are more delusional than Glen is- I have always thought him to be a strange guy.  Read first, then post.

Yes, Jeff, we had the discussion and now the discussion is over.  Let’s get on with the purpose of this NG which deals with solutions to parenting. It is not alt.finalsolutions.toallperverts.  It was a good, heated discussion, but all has been said  and it is essentially over. You have had your say and we have heard all your fears about all the vast amount of perverts that are trying to harm all the children-especially yours. Lets try to get back to the original purpose of this NG.   I don’t see how this post of yours pertains to solutions to parenting.    I am sure that alot of the people on here do not want to sift through more of the same posts or discussions.

Say what you will, but how anyone can possibly concieve that child molestation does not relate to parenting or belong in a parenting NG is borderline delusional, IMHO. Josie

Response:

OK.  But, for the record, it was Glen that asserted that "punishment doesn’t work". I felt that it was my obligation to challenge that statement for the sake of the children. Thanks for participating. Jeff

Response:

Those pictures are not for those with weak stomachs.  And most definitely not for children.  Thanks for the warning. The death penalty is not the best solution to the problem, even though I recognize it is one of the only solutions we have to stop the perverts. Make it clear, I am not against the death penalty for these perverts. But I do believe it is only because we don’t have any other choice.  We must protect the children. What we NEED to do is find the CAUSE of the perversion in the first place.  I honestly believe it is a sickness, and not something the average human being can control.  I believe molesters cannot stop themselves even when they want to.  Everyone can flame me all they want, but I believe the molester is a victim of some kind of illness. I don’t know if it is something wrong in their brains, their hormones, their chromosomes or what.  But there is a cause.  The only solution is to finally find the cause.  Only then can we see if there is any way to stop it or prevent it.  Until we know what is causing this kind of perversion, we are just grasping at straws trying to deal with these people.
