What brought that on? Listen kiddo…I AM a Witch…and a Mom….and a former member of the military and friends to both Gays and Lesbians. I haven’t seen anything in this group that you’re describing….some people may have a bias set in on some issues but most of the folks here seem decent enough. It must be fun for you to troll groups make judgement calls on folks you don’t know then blow town. !!O*_The MarchHare "My underwear is made of solid rubber!" –Dr Miguelito Quioxte Loveless http://community.webtv.net/marchhare32/Story (My Wild Wild West Fan Fiction) http://community.webtv.net/marchhare32/MAGICPANTSTheWild (The Wild Wild West, The SERIES, Droolie Visitors Center….updated semi-regularly)

I would say this is a either very touchy poster or a troll. I have never seen a more open-minded group as the ones here with very little exception. Cathy, Mom of Taylor 6, and Tiffany 4. To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart!

Looking at the threads here recently, I have to say that I haven’t seen the bigotry this poster thinks is present. While we have been discussing prayer in school and what to do if a child might be gay and even misconceptions about witchcraft, I have seen little bigotry expressed in the posts and much acceptance of others who are different. This post makes me wonder what newgroup the pearlnecklace has been reading. We do fight, but even with Elaine, it’s sort of a family squabble. No one wants to silence others and no one says that the other person’s pov isn’t valid for them. Mostly we take issue to the *way* in which some here express themselves, but I’ve seen less nastiness here than on many other newsgroups where flaming others is a pastime that is simply a game enjoyed for its own sake. I agree. Although I’ll admit that it has been some time since I have had to time to read all of the threads, here. But, still, I saw a thread where there was *some* discussion of homosexuality in kids and another where religion was discussed quite a bit. Is *that* little bit where the poster got the idea that all or most of the posters, here, were narrow-minded? Or … was that just one of those overly-sensitive rants? — Do not underestimate your abilities. That is your boss’s job. It is your job to find ways around your boss’s roadblocks.

Well, it takes all kinds, and they’re all here. This is Usenet — no rules about who can post or what they have to believe. Although there have been some threads that have turned into slugfests, most are pretty innocuous. Some of us are more sharp-tongued than others, and some of us talk VERY LOUDLY, but that’s the way it is in real life. By all means join in; the more the merrier. But remember that no one gets to the be only opinionated person for the day. You can no more tell other people what they must believe than they can tell you what to believe. (I mean, you can’t criticize people for judging others and do the same yourself, can you? Hard not to notice the logic breadown.) I think a lot of talking helps people understand and accept different viewpoints. Na she’s probably still lurking to see what reaction her post caused. I have to say a while back when someone posted asking about donar insemination and I posted back talking about a lesbian friend who had gone through a donor programme I wondered if it would bring the homophobes out of the woodworks. There was not one wimper, very impressive. I think that this is a pretty great ng. Keep smiling guys. Annemarie
